Recommended Books

These books have been reviewed and often used to assist individuals and couples in sex therapy to assist them in achieving the rich, fulfilling sex life that everybody deserves.  The link provided for each book will take you to Amazon.com where you can purchase the book.

Becoming Orgasmic, Julia Heiman and Joseph Lopiccolo - For women that have any inhibitions about sex or want to enhance the pleasure they get from sex.  Married, separated, divorced, or widowed; under 30, over 60, or somewhere in between; the program presented is designed to help women feel comfortable with themselves and their ideas about sex and enable them to grow as a person.

Male Sexual Endurance, Robert W. Birch - Reviews various theories about the cause of premature ejaculation and takes a critical look at the claims of cure. The book offers a refreshing new way of looking at the lack of ejaculatory control, then identifies what seems to have worked and not worked in past treatment approaches. Dr. Birch put together a self-help program that is both practical and fun. He believes that men can learn to last longer and offers a reasonable way of learning just how to extend ejaculatory control (without promises of quick cures or marathon potential).

One user of this book wrote the following review for Amazon.com.  "Having suffered PE for many years I have read many of the so-called self-help manuals out there, and I can say without hesitation that this is the best.--------- Whatever your problem is, stress, a physiological problem, whatever, this book may have the answer. I have a hair-trigger rig myself, and am prone to losing my mess just looking at a girl - if this book works for me, it could work for you.

The New Male Sexuality, Bernie Zilbergeld - Introduces an approach to sex that emphasizes feeling good about yourself, good about your partner, and good about what you're doing. It includes many exercises--ranging from solo mental activities to practice sessions requiring a willing partner--that the author has used regularly in his practice. In addition, he provides suggested scripts that give examples of how to talk to your partner. In promoting ways to have better sex his approach focuses on relationships and communication--becoming a good listener, asserting yourself, expressing yourself, etc. Specific sexual problems are considered, and exercises designed to resolve them are provided.

For Yourself: The Fulfillment of Female Sexuality, Lonnie Barbach - Offers a step-by-step program developed by an acclaimed sex therapist with years of experience in the field. With an emphasis on clear, factual advice, simple, effective exercises, and a warm, reassuring tone, it helps women discover a new world of sexual and personal fulfillment-for themselves.

Anal Pleasure and Health, Jack Morin - For those who want to include the anal area in their erotic exploration.  The book explains how to replace negative emotions and beliefs about the anus with positive attitudes; how to simultaneously enjoy anal stimulation and promote anal wellness; how to know and communicate your requirements for satisfying anal experiences; and how to contribute to your own healing when you have medical problems.

Extra Ordinary Sex Now: A Couples Guide to Intimacy, Sandra Scantling - A guide for any couple seeking to rekindle their passion. Dr. Scantling proves that lovemaking need never grow dull--that it can be an ongoing, joyous event, now and for the rest of our lives.

How To Overcome Premature Ejaculation, Helen Kaplan Singer - Explains the techniques used by sex therapist to treat premature ejaculation in layman terms.
